I was an average athlete who grew up in the 80s with a dad who thought juice was the cure for any ailment. It was also a time when fat was demonized and low-fat everything filled grocery store shelves. My journey into this space started with my own struggles with confidence and body image. I fell in love with the gym when I was around 18, but since I had no clue about nutrition, I fueled my body with things like cereal, pizza, and hot Italian grinders (it’s a Rhode Island thing.)
Higher education was never my jam… so I dropped out and became a personal trainer. I found my passion and started learning and implementing everything I could. Still, nutrition education was limited, and food marketing focused more on taste than ingredients and health impact. The idea of “dieting” usually meant restricting calories rather than eating balanced, whole foods. Over the years, as I studied and learned, the more I realized how much trash there is out there when it comes to fitness and nutrition, especially for women – and especially for women who are perimenopausal and beyond.
My Passion Has Only Grown…
My passion for nutrition and educating others has only grown over the years as I’ve continued to develop my knowledge and experience by working with hundreds of women (and myself!) I’ve learned so much since those early days of chugging juice and carb-loading with pizza. It’s been an ongoing journey to re-learn new information and break old habits.
I’ve felt firsthand the frustrations of sorting through contradictory or misleading fad diets and fitness trends aimed at women. Witnessing how these unhealthy patterns have impacted my own health and self-image drives me to share everything I know with others. I want to spread useful, empowering knowledge to help women transform their lifestyles and their sense of self- worth when it comes to health, fitness, and nutrition.
In particular, I’m focused on serving perimenopausal and menopausal women. This important life transition is shrouded in misinformation and is still taboo. I provide thoughtful guidance based on science and compassion, helping women overcome frustrations and take control of their health during a pivotal time of change.
This Is Personal…
At the core, this is personal. I advocate for the knowledge I needed years ago. If I can help women tune out harmful noise, adopt self-care habits that work, and reclaim confidence in their bodies, then my work has made a difference. I don’t sell quick fixes – I offer the facts and support for lifelong empowerment.
I help perimenopausal and menopausal women who are struggling to reach their health, fitness, and nutrition goals, despite feeling like they’re doing everything right.
